Iraqi "Liberation"

Mazine,
Regarding your comment on Iraqi liberation: I think this is a very important
point. It is clear that if the US rationale for intervening in Iraq at this
point in time is to secure a more democratic regime and liberate the people of
Iraq, we would not have chosen in the recent past to place economic sanctions
on the country. This decision was single-handedly responsible for the death
of millions of innocent civilian deaths, many of them children, which is
hardly in alignment with liberation. It is quite transparent at this time
that a regime change initiative would be stimulated by concerns regarding
energy security in the Middle East.
