RE: Hussein like Hitler
In response to the "Hussein like Hitler" comparison, I am glad you pointed
that out.
Since you are in a comparison process, let's put things another way.
First, let's compare the so called "rampage" of Hitler into Western Europe
with the "rampage" of the US into the Arab and Muslim world.
Hitler aimed by his actions to create a German Empire that could equal and why
not rivals the British Empire; he wanted his country to be strong, safe and
has the ability to be auto-sufficent in terms of natural resources. That's why
his rampage was not limited to W.Europe but to North Africa (Algeria, Lybia,
Egypt...) and many other countries would have followed.
Let's now compare it to the actions the US is undertaking. The US has
started "ramping" into new territories for the same reason: security,
strengthening its position as a superpower, dominating the world and get these
essential natural resources into its clutches.
For security reasons, the US started a war on terrorism and seized
Afghanistan. Besides the fact they annihilated the "Taliban Regime" that
caused tragedies not only in the US but in many countries killing far more
than 3000 people, this action had two strategic consequences: primo by
allowing American Military presence just at the gates of Russia, and secondo
by giving a new birth to the development of a stalled oilfield project
(operated by ChevronTexaco) in Kazakhstan. For your information, the field was
on stand-by because there was no possibility to transport the oil unless a
pipeline was built from Kazakhstan through Uzbekistan and Afghanistan and
eventually through Pakistan before ending in the Indian Ocean and being
shipped to the American West Coast.
Now the US, once again, will initiate another war to seize Iraq. During the
first Gulf war, America was not able to invade Iraq but succeeded
in "acquiring" Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrein and parts of the UAE.
Moreover, the US has already another massive presence in this crucial part of
the world, ISRAEL.
I am not necessarly saying that Bush is a new Hitler, as your message was
suggesting so clearly about Hitler and Saddam!!, but I just wanted you to
understand that things are never the same and conflicts are different. By
comparing two individuals, we will certainly find similtudes and that was just
an example seen from the "other side of the mirror".
