Re: Arguing Stereotypes

Liz,

I think you misunderstand somewhat. I think that you went a little too fast in
jumping into hasty conclusions.

First of all, I am not trying to educate anybody, far from that. This is as
you so-clearly-stated a "discussion" or if you wish an exchange of opinions
and ideas, and this is simply what each of us is doing. This is why I think we
should not drift from the primary objective of it, which is enriching
ourselves, and not fall into a "politician-type" debate.

And this is called freedom or/and democracy: the right to speak out loud your
opinions, even if they are different from those of the others, and that's what
has driven America and the Western World in general to where they are now. I
wished all the countries worldwide could benefit from that advantage of free-
speech.

Everybody has opinions, and very often, fortunately or unfortunately,
different ones. Everyone of us has had a different life, had different
experinces, come from different countries with different cultures and
religions...and eventually come up with a different way of thinking.
Someone once said: "...There is so many different worlds, so many different
suns and we have just one world, but we live in different ones...", and I
could not agree more.

Besides, and I want you to understand that, when I respond to somebody, in
this class chat, I am not criticizing the person him/her self, but the idea
he/she has come up with.

Even though I do not agree with some of the postings (from an ideology
standpoint), I DO RESPECT them, and I think this is a key point for a
successful and constructive debate.

Thanks,

Mazine
