Calling the Prophet Muhammad a terrorist is indeed an ignorant and
offensive statment, and I, personally, am embarrassed by it. However,
people should keep in mind that Jerry Falwell does not represent the majority of
the people in the United States, nor does he represent mainstream
Christianity. It's true that he does have a following, but many feel
that his views are extreme and border on ridiculous. It is unfortunate that
some people see him as representative of American public opinion. To regard
his views as "proof that the US wants political, cultural and military
domination of the world" reveals a gross misunderstanding of American
society. One could certainly argue that the US seeks world domination, but
the remarks of Jerry Falwell are not convincing evidence of this.
