re: re: Puzzeled
I read the article as well. I had mixed feeling about it. It seems to me that
the UN is agreeing with Bush, but I don't feel like Bush is "getting away" with
anything. Maybe war is what is coming in the future, but I think that there are
reasons and support for a war. But also I think Bush and the UN are taking many
extra precautions and really trying to avoid going to war. In some ways I think
that we won't go to war, like someone said in the debate during class, maybe
all this talk of war is just a bluff. I mean, a very serious threat is the only
way to get Hussain to take this matter seriously. I think that we are dealing
with a very serious threat here because I think Bush has a lot more information
then I/we do. (At least I hope so.) Also I don't think that this is "some kind
of post election gloating from the Republicans", they won because the majority
of the people supported them and that really doesn't have anything to so with
it. I am not saying I am absolutly pro-war, but I do trust the president and I
think he is really trying to avoid a war with Iraq. President Bush is at least
dealing with the issue of the threat of Iraq, he is not concerned just with his
own re-election (like most politicians).
