If anyone sees this message, I would strongly
recommend that you pick up a copy of today's New York Times. On the front
page of Business Day there is an article outlining the position of several
religious advocacy groups, including representation of Christians and Jews, that
is purporting a "What Would Jesus Drive?" initiative that is exhorting Detroit
automakers to produce vehicles, namely SUVs and trucks, that gain better fuel
economy. Apparently, they are of the opinion that condoning the
production of such vehicles is tantamount to violating the long standing
Judeo-Christian ethics of being faithful stewards of God's creation as well as
honoring one's neighbors. Rev. Jim Ball goes so far as to say,"How can
I love my neighboras myself if I am filling his lungs
with pollution?"
Let me reiterate -THIS IS NOT A
JOKE!!
Finally we have a common ground for people of
various faiths to unite in opposition to the Great Satan - the Ford
Excursion!!!!!
